Advertising Week Europe opened its doors to the industry for the fifth time this month and Picturehouse Central, Piccadilly was once again transformed into the hub for the meeting of media minds.
Along with a stellar line up of talent and thought leadership throughout the week, our brands hosted three thought provoking sessions. On Monday, editor of The Independent, Christian Broughton interviewed The Independent’s political cartoonist Dave Brown – giving a rare insight into the thought process behind the witty images we see in newsbrands everyday.
Tuesday saw The Independent host a fantastic panel on real, front-line journalism including The Independent’s in-field journalists Kim Sengupta, Defence and Diplomatic Editor and Bethan McKernan, Middle East Reporter joined by Will Gore, Deputy Managing Editor for The Independent and Evening Standard, moderated by Paul Blanchard.
And finally, complete with canapés on entry, the Evening Standard hosted a session on why London really is the food capital of the world, with a stellar panel including Food Critic & Creative Director Grace Dent, Chef and restauranteur Angela Hartnett and Diageo Reserve’s World Class & Luxury Events Manager Dan Dove, moderated by our own MD Jon O’Donnell.
As well as our sessions, our branded area on Picturehouse Central’s first floor hosted thousands of delegates who came and had a sit down to charge their devices and catch up on their day with water, snacks, stationary and hangover cures in the mornings and alcoholic beverages and relaxing massages in the afternoon. In partnership with Indy Green and Belu water, we not only provided free water to guests, but also recycling facilities around the venue, encouraging Adweekers to recycle their free bottles.
Bring on next year!
