The Story Studio division within ESI Media commercial is made up of commercial editors, designers and project managers meeting the increased demand for solutions partnerships and sponsorships.

The role will report to the Head of Project Management and share in the delivery of cross-media projects: from one-off advertorials to long term partnerships which may require liaising with Events, Promotions and digital specialists.

Project managers work across our whole portfolio of titles, covering ESI’s main media (print and digital including social media and video). The Senior Project Manager should be the most experienced project manager of the team and at times deputise for the Head of Project Management.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Project management background – 5 years of print or other media.

  • Proven ability to manage, control and deliver successful and profitable projects, including scoping and costing 3rd party services.
  • Creation of production and campaign timelines.
  • Ability to tailor process to the campaign.
  • Eye for design.
  • Previous experience organising photo shoots, liaising with photographers, model agencies, make-up artists and art directors.
  • Understanding of digital platforms.

We are searching for an Affiliate Executive to join us on a fixed term contract for 6 months to help optimise affiliate revenue. The role does not require any prior technical expertise or experience and training will be done on the job. Good attitude, hardworking and willing to learn being amongst the most important attributes.

Responsibilities:

  • General administrative support.
  • General reporting and monitoring.
  • Add affiliate links to articles – Indybest, ES Best and also into standard.co.uk and independent.co.uk features.
  • Add tags to articles.
  • Use excel to produce traffic and revenue reports on a monthly basis.
  • Curation of the product landing pages in the new information architecture.
  • Provide social media support and supporting editorial where needed.
  • Ensuring there are no broken links at any time.
  • Implement marketing plan on month by month basis with special focus on key events e.g. Black Friday, Christmas.
  • PPC / Paid social campaign support.

  • Extremely organised, efficient and pro-active and able to juggle multiple tasks at once.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Digital Insights Manager as the number of requests for digital insights increases.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of ESI’s digital audience but also get to grips with the print audience and need to provide cross-platform and print insights too.
  • Help to raise the profile of ESI Insight internally and externally; for example, making us the ‘go to’ for London insight.
  • Become a super-user of our digital insight tools, from ComScore to Nielsen to Adobe. You’ll also be(come) adept at using IMS to manipulate data e.g. TGI Clickstream and NRS PADD type data.
  • Provide support to the sales team by helping to create and update sales collateral and respond to advertiser briefs, using relevant tools to create compelling arguments for why our products and audiences are right for a particular campaign or advertiser.
  • Help proactively identify and pursue new revenue opportunities by the analysis and understanding of our print and digital audiences and of different advertiser industries.
  • Identify category strength areas for the brands and create category-focused presentations to tap into these opportunities.
  • Work with your colleagues in the Audience and Insight team to ensure consumer insight is taken to market in an interesting and effective way.
  • Use desktop research and any other insight tools to ensure commercial department is kept aware of our key numbers and trends in relevant markets – with scope to introduce new tools to the business.
  • Achieve visibility as a conduit between internal departments to maximise distribution of relevant reports and materials and to ensure information is shared and understood.
  • Commission and manage your own research projects.
  • Use campaign effectiveness research to prove success and create case studies that help to drive awareness of and engagement with our commercial capabilities.
  • Work with editorial, content creators and commercial stakeholders to create marketing communications and identify new and engaging ways to promote our proposition and messages.
  • Represent ESI’s interests amongst trade bodies and at industry events as needed.

What we seek:

  • Passion for everything insight, with an eagerness to understand consumers and identify and share compelling stories.
  • Passion for digital and the future of newsbrands.
  • An understanding of the research opportunities that exist to help to identify and build those stories.
  • Experience in consumer research and analytics from a media owner, brand or advertising/media agency background.
  • Understanding of Nielsen/TGI/ComScore and other information sources and the proven ability to mine data for insights, as well as creating your own useful and usable reports.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, whether verbally or in written formats
  • Creative and commercial thinker; proactive in identifying and actioning projects that lead to commercial growth.
  • Able to work independently to a deadline, often managing multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrating a strong work ethic.
  • Must be good with numbers, have advanced Excel skills and be good (ideally great) on PowerPoint.
  • Excellent at building relationships within the team and with other departments across the business, as well as externally with clients and agencies as needed.
  • Someone who takes enjoyment from the kind of work outlined and from a buzzing and lively modern media environment.
