The Story Studio division within ESI Media commercial is made up of commercial editors, designers and project managers meeting the increased demand for solutions partnerships and sponsorships.

The role will report to the Head of Project Management and share in the delivery of cross-media projects: from one-off advertorials to long term partnerships which may require liaising with Events, Promotions and digital specialists.

ESI Media is constantly evolving as a data-informed business. A Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Manager is needed to ensure the newsroom has an analytics environment which meets current business needs and future aspirations of the editorial teams.

This role requires an outstanding Analyst who can provide regular and proactive business insights to the content team from a variety of data sources used by the publisher, in particular social media and video analytics. It is also the role of the Senior Data Analyst to respond to and shape requests from key stakeholders for data that can be applied to these business areas to improve customer engagement and retention, shape product development and increase revenues.

The candidate needs to be able to distinguish between the delivery of data and the delivery of insights that are of use to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, the candidate’s key responsibilities include:

  • Compilation of regular and proactive editorial and management insight reports from key data sources, specialising in social media and preferably video analytics.
  • Identification of key audience or interest-based trends and insights from the data sources which could have product development or business applications, and working closely with the relevant content and business teams to act on the findings.
  • Ensuring analysis and actionable insights for the newsroom fit with business objectives, and proactively identifying publishing trends, areas of opportunity, efficiencies and support for the changing nature of digital content publishing.
  • Identification of the structure and breadth of specific project requirements which deliver value to key editorial business areas.

This role is to ensure ESI Media evolves as a data-informed business. Responsible for ensuring ESI Media has an analytics environment which meets current business needs and future aspirations of all stakeholders, particularly the newsrooms, business management, CRM and commercial teams. Manage a team of Data Analysts and an Analytics Manager responsible for delivering proactive and actionable data insights and reporting. The Head of Data Analytics will also be responsible for promoting sharing and use of ESI Media data assets across the business and own relationships with any 3rd party data analytics suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the candidate’s key responsibilities include:

  • The continual development of the analytics team’s outputs to ensure they meet the business needs of all key stakeholders, from editorial to business development, CRM to commercial.
  • Ensure analysis and actionable insights for the newsroom fit with business objectives, and proactively identify publishing trends, areas of opportunity, efficiencies and support for the changing nature of digital content publishing.
  • Utilise all data sources at your disposal including real-time analytics, customer identity management, viewability, app store partners and video vendors to further enrich customer understanding and identify actionable insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Digital Insights Manager as the number of requests for digital insights increases.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of ESI’s digital audience but also get to grips with the print audience and need to provide cross-platform and print insights too.
  • Help to raise the profile of ESI Insight internally and externally; for example, making us the ‘go to’ for London insight.
  • Become a super-user of our digital insight tools, from ComScore to Nielsen to Adobe. You’ll also be(come) adept at using IMS to manipulate data e.g. TGI Clickstream and NRS PADD type data.
  • Provide support to the sales team by helping to create and update sales collateral and respond to advertiser briefs, using relevant tools to create compelling arguments for why our products and audiences are right for a particular campaign or advertiser.

Primary Purpose of the Job:

The Multi Skilled Operator is, by its definition, a role where you will be expected to be proficient in a number of different roles within the Technical Broadcast team.

You will be able to work across floor management, studio and outside broadcast cameras, sound, lighting, graphics, editing and media management to assist in the broadcast and production of all our content across the schedule.

Role details

Operating equipment for broadcast programmes and providing technical support in live gallery, studios and outside broadcasts.

Depending on shift, will need to check studio settings for cameras, lighting and sound, call up live sources, line up/operate autocue on more complicated programmes.

The Technical Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining all the broadcast equipment; including testing, monitoring and repairing. Will also assist the Head of Studio & Live Production with oversight and mentoring of the Technical Team members
