The London Evening Standard‘s Progress 1000 was created to spotlight and celebrate the most influential individuals in London across a range of areas including business, technology, science, politics, design, architecture, culture and the arts. 2017 will be the Top 1000’s 11th year.
The categories of the Progress1000 alter slightly each year. The 2016 categories were as follows:
• Progress makers (pioneers, rising stars, legacies)
• Boffinocracy (mathematicians, scientists)
• Placemakers (construction, architects and building design)
• Capitalisers (city and business leaders)
• Music Makers
• Social Crusaders
• Pace setters
Progress 1000 is comprised of 2 key elements:
(i) a glossy print magazine, profiling the individuals selected for the list. This is replicated online, at www.standard.co.uk/the1000. We also produce a digital replica PDF on iOS, Android and Windows platforms.
(ii) an event revealing the list and celebrating the individuals (and their achievements) that have been selected for the list. This may include additional sponsor activation before or after the main event.
